Cusco:  The ancient Inca capital is a mixture of pre-Columbian ruins and Spanish colonial architecture.

Sacsayhuamán:  Emblematic building of the Incas, erected by the Inca Pachacútec in the fifteenth century. It is an immense fortress built with large stones, whose transfer and styling is still a mystery.

Andahuaylillas:  Visit the Renaissance-Baroque church of San Pedro Apóstol, known as the ‘Sistine Chapel of America’ thanks to its fascinating frescoes.

Machu Picchu:  The lost city of the Incas is hidden on the top of an Andean peak and offers views not only of the mountain range but also of the Inca past.

Itinerary

DÍA 1

Day 1 | Arrival Cusco – Sacred Valley

A mobility and a representative receive you at the Cusco airport and transfer you to the selected hotel in the Sacred Valley. Along the way, taking the route to Pisaq, you will visit the Inkary museum, which exposes the history and culture of different civilizations of ancient Peru. Upon arrival at the hotel, you are assisted at check-in and accommodation.

DÍA 2

Day 2 | Sacred Valley – Chinchero – Ollantaytambo

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the town of  Chinchero , a traditional Cusco urban center located at an elevated point from where you can see a privileged view of the Valley. Then, it is transferred to the  Live Museum of Yucay , a center of interpretation of the Andean traditions, where demonstrations of the elaboration of textile, adobe, ceramics and silverware work are carried out in the same way in which they were worked in ancient times; an original recreation of the Inca traditions. Also, in this place live alpacas llamas and sheep, which can be fed! Subsequently, live an experience of superior Andean gastronomy in  Ollantaytambo. In addition, visit the town and archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, inhabited continuously since Inca times, and climb the iconic fortress, built next to the mountain. Finally, he is transferred back to his hotel.

DÍA 3

Day 3 | Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Your journey to Machu Picchu begins with a train journey to the town of Aguas Calientes. In Aguas Calientes, there is a craft market, restaurants and accommodation of different categories for those who prefer to spend the night at the foot of the mountain and climb early to it. After a short trip I arrived at Machu Picchu, considered a World Heritage Site according to UNESCO and one of the new seven wonders of the world. At the end of the tour return by bus to Aguas Calientes. Have lunch at the Inkaterra Café Machu Picchu Pueblo. In the afternoon return to your hotel in Cusco.

DÍA 4

Day 4 | Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel. You have the morning free to walk around the city. In the afternoon, start the tour in Coricancha, also known as ‘The Temple of the Sun’, which was ordered to be built by the Inca Pachacútec. Then visit the Cathedral, the most imposing monument of the Plaza de Armas. Then, get to know the fortress of Sacsayhuamán, one of the emblematic buildings of the Incas, erected by the Inca Pachacútec in the 15th century. Go to Qenqo, an archeological complex primarily for religious use. Finally, know Puca Pucará, ‘red fortress’, was an architectural complex of supposed military use with multiple environments, squares, bathrooms, aqueducts, walls and towers. It is believed it was used by the Inca’s entourage while he rested in Tambomachay. When finished, return to the hotel.

DÍA 5

Day 5 | Cusco – South Valley

Start your tour in Tipón, perfectly preserved archeological sites located 27 kilometers from the city of Cusco. Near the town of the same name, where an impressive rural colonial mansion rises (1650), there are 12 terraces still cultivated, some enclosures and an irrigation system considered a masterpiece of hydraulic engineering still used by the surrounding population. Then continue to Pikillacta, considered one of the best preserved pre-Inca cities in Peru that corresponds to the Wari culture, predecessor of the Incas. Finally, visit Andahuaylillas, a town located 40 kilometers from Cusco that has the greatest attraction of the Church of Andahuaylillas. Also called “The Sistine Chapel of America”, due to the high quality of the art pieces found in it, The structure was built in the 16th century on possibly Wari construction sites. From here start your return to Cusco.

DÍA 6

Day 6 | Cusco – Lima

Breakfast at the hotel. A mobility takes you from the selected hotel to the airport. A representative assists you during the journey.
