The Larco Museum, founded by Rafael Larco Hoyle, escapes the classic Lima tourist route. And it is that this refuge of peace and culture, framed by high white walls and surrounded by gardens and bougainvillea, has a private collection that is the result of the dedication of the Álvarez Calderón family, descendants of Rafael Larco, who over the years has worried of nurturing it and displaying it impeccably to the public.
This museum tells an important part of our pre-Columbian history and the Andean worldview thanks to the set of its pieces; It also houses the most impressive collection of erotic huacos, collection studios and time maps. As if to devote a long time of observation; but above all, take advantage of a luxury guide, which always invites you to keep asking and enriching the spirit.
After marveling at the impressive collection of pre-Columbian objects of the Larco Museum, visitors can enjoy the museum’s cozy café-restaurant, located on the terrace facing beautiful gardens and overlooking the pre-Columbian pyramid and the viceregal mansion.
